Old Lisbon Franchise Founder
Carlos is a native of Portugal and came to the U.S. to study in Miami, Florida. He is an entrepreneur with experience in business ownership and development. In addition to other endeavors, he has opened multiple Old Lisbon locations and is passionate in his belief that immersing customers in Portuguese culture is what makes Old Lisbon stand out from the competition in the fine dining industry. Under his leadership, he has given South Florida a true Portuguese gastronomic experience for the last 30 years. Carlos is also the founder of the Restaurant Owners Club, providing members with a modern business platform designed to thrive in the industry.
Carlos grew up watching his Dad grow the Old Lisbon brand. With a passion for finance and real estate, and after two years sharpening his skills at Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis, he joined the family business implementing new technology, spearheading the construction and opening of Old Lisbon Aventura. Today, he responsible for the technology and delivery systems for Old Lisbon locations, and leads franchise owners through the real estate and site selection process.
Executive Chef
Carlos Abreu grew up in the former fishing village of Ericeira. From a very young age, he traveled to Lisbon to work as a chef cooking for those with a passion for authentic Portuguese cuisine. Today, he brings traditional favorites and proprietary recipes to the Old Lisbon menu.
